Mechanism of Action
Tetraselmis Chuii Extract exerts its beneficial effects primarily through its rich phytochemical profile, notably carotenoids (such as neoxanthin, violaxanthin, zeaxanthin, α- and β-carotene) and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. These components enable the extract to neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS), thereby demonstrating significant antioxidant capacity. Furthermore, it modulates inflammatory responses by inhibiting lipoxygenase (LOX) activity, reducing skin irritation. Its ability to inhibit sebum secretion contributes to improving the appearance and health of oily and breakout-prone skin. It also functions as a skin-conditioning agent, emollient, and humectant.
