Science

This ingredient functions primarily as a robust humectant, actively attracting and binding water molecules to profoundly hydrate and revitalize dehydrated skin. It creates a breathable, silky film on the skin's surface, which reinforces the moisture barrier, effectively diminishing the appearance of fine lines and reducing tactile roughness. Furthermore, TSP possesses soothing properties, alleviating skin tightness, supporting cellular regeneration for improved texture, and offering protection against environmental stressors.

Stability

Tamarindus Indica Seed Polysaccharide (TSP) exhibits exceptional pH stability, maintaining its viscosity effectively within a broad pH range of 1 to 10. While highly alkaline environments (pH > 10) can drastically reduce its viscosity, acidic conditions, elevated temperatures, and the presence of salt ions or sucrose exert only minor influence. TSP is insoluble in common organic solvents such as ethanol, methanol, acetone, and ether. It displays sparse solubility in cold water but fully dissolves in hot water (above 85°C) to form a highly viscous colloidal solution or mucilaginous gel.
