Mechanism of Action
This extract exerts its beneficial effects by neutralizing damaging free radicals, such as DPPH radicals, and inhibiting lipid peroxidation, thus safeguarding skin from oxidative stress. Its anti-inflammatory action is demonstrated through a significant reduction in nitric oxide (NO) production in stimulated cells. For anti-aging and repair, it actively stimulates the proliferation of human skin fibroblasts and has been shown to enhance telomerase activity. Furthermore, its rich phytochemical composition, including tannins, triterpenes, phenolic compounds, flavonoids, carotenoids, and ascorbic acid, contributes to its broad-spectrum antibacterial properties.

Key findings
- 01 Increased the proliferation of human skin fibroblasts by 26.58 ± 5.91% at a concentration of 1.0 mg/ml, indicating strong wound healing potential.
- 02 Reduced nitric oxide (NO) production by 20.5 ± 2.8% in LPS-induced macrophage cells at 0.1 mg/ml, underscoring its anti-inflammatory efficacy.
- 03 Demonstrated potent antioxidant activity, with an ethanolic leaf extract showing 71.6 ± 1.4% DPPH radical scavenging ability at 500 µg/mL.
- 04 Exhibited anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting protein denaturation with an IC50 of 203.55 µg mL⁻¹.
