Mechanism of Action
This ingredient functions as a cationic (positively charged) quaternary ammonium compound. Its positive charge facilitates interaction with negatively charged surfaces, such as hair, thereby neutralizing static electricity and imparting a smoother feel. This surface interaction and film-forming action can similarly contribute to a conditioning effect on the skin.
