To prevent polymerization, Stearyl Acrylate requires storage under an oxygenated atmosphere (never inert gases) to ensure the stabilizer's efficacy. The storage temperature should not exceed 35 °C for a one-year shelf life. While crystallized material can be melted at up to 60 °C, storage at this elevated temperature should not exceed 5 days to avoid degradation and premature polymer formation.

A specific copolymer was reported to contain up to 0.15% (1500 ppm) of residual stearyl acrylate monomer. The raw Stearyl Acrylate monomer itself is classified as an irritant and potential sensitizer (GHS H315, H317, H319, H335), necessitating strict handling protocols including avoiding direct contact with skin and eyes, preventing vapor inhalation, and using appropriate personal protective equipment during manufacture.
