Mechanism of Action
This compound functions by significantly improving epidermal hyaluronic acid content and thickness. It achieves this by upregulating hyaluronan synthase 2 and 3 expression, leading to increased deposition of hyaluronic acid in the basal and suprabasal epidermal layers. Concurrently, it stimulates the production and deposition of critical structural proteins such as laminin-5, collagen IV, and fibrillin near the dermo-epidermal junction.
