This ingredient shows poor absorption through healthy skin but can be significantly absorbed through damaged skin. Genotoxicity data were mostly negative, and both oral and dermal carcinogenicity studies yielded negative results. Related Alpha-Olefin Sulfonates (C10-18) are approved by the FDA for specific indirect food additive applications.
