Specifically, Schisandrin B boosts endogenous glutathione production, a key antioxidant. It exhibits potent anti-inflammatory effects by modulating inflammatory pathways, downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, MCP-1, and TSLP, and inhibiting COX-2/PGE2 and NF-κB signaling, thereby reducing redness and irritation. This ingredient also actively promotes collagen synthesis, enhancing skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while simultaneously inhibiting collagenase to prevent collagen degradation.
