Mechanism of Action
This ingredient acts as an anionic surfactant, effectively cleansing the skin, boosting foam, and aiding in product emulsification. Its hydrolyzed rice protein component, rich in small molecular size peptides and amino acids, penetrates the skin to deeply moisturize, fortify the natural barrier, and stimulate collagen production. It also provides antioxidant protection, contributes to skin brightening, soothes irritation, and helps balance sebum production, while forming a protective film on the skin's surface to retain moisture.

Safety Profile
The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel has deemed 'Hydrolyzed Rice Protein' (a core component) safe for cosmetic use. While the full ingredient 'Potassium Cocoyl Hydrolyzed Rice Protein' currently has insufficient CIR data, EWG Skin Deep assesses it as 'LOW' risk for common concerns including cancer, allergies & immunotoxicity, and developmental/reproductive toxicity. It is noted that a similar ingredient, 'Potassium Cocoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen', had its safety assessment reopened by CIR in June 2024 to re-evaluate sensitization, which is a consideration for related hydrolyzed protein surfactants.
