Mechanism of Action
As a cationic polymer, Polyquaternium-63 is hypothesized to bind electrostatically to the negatively charged surface of the stratum corneum. This interaction facilitates the formation of a delicate, protective film. This film is expected to smooth the skin, deliver hydration through humectant properties, and establish a barrier to reduce transepidermal water loss and offer protection against external irritants, thus contributing to strengthened skin barrier function.
