Beyond surface hydration, PGA stimulates the skin's natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) like pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (PCA) and lactic acid, and may inhibit hyaluronidase, thereby preserving the skin's endogenous hyaluronic acid content. Further, it supports collagen production, promoting enhanced firmness and elasticity, and exhibits antioxidant properties against free radical damage. Emerging research also points to its potential for promoting cell growth and regeneration, and contributing to a more even skin tone by addressing hyperpigmentation.
