Gamma-Linolenic Acid notably acts as a precursor to anti-inflammatory eicosanoids, such as prostaglandin E1, which can actively suppress inflammatory mediators including interleukin 1β (IL-1β), interleukin 6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α).
