Mechanism of Action
OVUM POWDER operates through multiple pathways due to its complex composition. Components derived from Natural Egg Membrane Concentrate (NEMC™), such as collagens (I, V, X), hyaluronic acid, keratin, and elastin, collectively enhance skin hydration, improve elasticity, stimulate cellular activity, and support collagen production to mitigate visible signs of aging. Powdered egg oil, rich in lecithin, fats, cholesterol, antioxidants, and amino acids, provides anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial benefits, assists in acne management, and boosts moisture retention and skin suppleness, also acting as a penetration enhancer. Egg white protein contributes to skin firming, toning, reduction of fine lines, and sebum control, while also forming a protective barrier. Furthermore, eggshell membrane hydrolysates demonstrate anti-inflammatory properties, inhibit wrinkle formation by reducing collagenase and elastase activity, and offer antimicrobial and moisture-protective effects. The powder also functions as a physical abrasive, aiding in the removal of surface impurities.

Key findings
- 01 In an open-label, 4-week human study, Natural Egg Membrane Concentrate (NEMC™) powder demonstrated efficacy in reducing the appearance of wrinkles, improving skin hydration, smoothing skin texture, and addressing conditions such as acne, dry skin, and brittle skin.
- 02 Eggshell membrane hydrolysates (ESMH) have shown multifunctional benefits, including anti-inflammatory action, anti-wrinkle effects through collagenase and elastase inhibition, antimicrobial activity against various bacteria, and enhanced moisture protection on human skin. Specific *in vitro* and *ex vivo* concentrations for these effects ranged from 10-500 μg/mL for elastase inhibition, 10-20 mg/disc for antimicrobial activity, and 1 mg/mL for moisture protection.

Stability
Various egg components within OVUM POWDER exhibit robust stability. Powdered egg oil maintains extreme stability in both oil-in-water (o/w) and water-in-oil (w/o) emulsions. Egg yolk powder is suitable for prolonged dry storage at ambient temperatures. Whole egg components can be effectively encapsulated when introduced into an oil phase at temperatures between 60°C and 90°C. Egg white protein powder is noted for its high water-binding capacity, while ultrafine eggshell powder can form a uniform, creamy solution when dissolved in lactic acid at room temperature.
Safety
Safety Profile
While OVUM POWDER and related egg derivatives are not subject to concentration regulations by EU authorities, their biological origin necessitates careful consideration for individuals with known egg allergies. A preliminary patch test is strongly advised to identify potential sensitivities prior to full application. In the U.S., cosmetic ingredient safety is primarily the responsibility of the manufacturer, as FDA approval is not required for non-color additive ingredients before market entry.
