This synthetic lipo-peptide engages fibroblast receptors, initiating a cascade of biological signals that stimulate the synthesis of extracellular matrix components, including collagen types I and IV and fibronectin, thereby accelerating dermal repair and reducing visible signs of aging. Its lipid-tethered structure optimizes penetration through the stratum corneum. For hair and lashes, it signals follicles to enter and remain in the anagen (growth) phase while inhibiting proteins associated with the catagen and telogen (shedding) phases. It also specifically targets and activates the transcription and translation of keratin genes, leading to increased keratin synthesis which improves hair elasticity and strength.
