Lindera Erythrocarpa Extract acts as a robust antioxidant by effectively neutralizing DPPH free radicals and superoxide radicals, and by inhibiting xanthine oxidase, thereby protecting skin cells from oxidative stress and damage. Its significant anti-inflammatory actions stem from inhibiting nitric oxide (NO) production, suppressing the expression of key pro-inflammatory enzymes such as inducible NO synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). Furthermore, it reduces the release of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and interleukin-6 (IL-6), while deactivating NF-κB, a central regulator of inflammation.
