Its low surface tension facilitates excellent spreadability, imparting a smooth, non-tacky finish. This breathable shield simultaneously protects the skin from external irritants while permitting the optimal penetration of other active ingredients. Furthermore, modified derivatives, like Lauryl PEG/PPG-18/18 Methicone, demonstrate emulsifying properties, which are beneficial for evenly dispersing powdered components such as mineral UV filters or pigments, potentially improving product performance like UV protection and reducing visible white-cast.
