Mechanism of Action
As a cytokinin growth factor, Kinetin actively delays cellular aging in dermal fibroblasts without promoting harmful proliferation. Its mechanism involves stimulating protein synthesis through interaction with ribosomal proteins and promoting differentiation of aging keratinocytes. Kinetin also functions as an indirect antioxidant by increasing superoxide dismutase activity, protecting cellular DNA from damage, and improving skin barrier function by reducing transepidermal water loss.
