However, the raw substance is classified as a flammable solid (H228) and a skin irritant (GHS Category 2, H315). It has also been reported as irritating to eyes, respiratory system, and skin (R 36/37/38), and may cause sensitization by inhalation and skin contact (R 42/43). Given these classifications and potential for irritation or sensitivity, a patch test is recommended before wider topical application, especially for individuals with reactive skin.
