Iris Pallida Root Extract (IPE) exerts its protective effects primarily by counteracting cortisol-induced degradation of collagen and hyaluronic acid. It achieves this through dual action: regulating the expression of key genes and inhibiting the nuclear translocation of the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). The extract, rich in isoflavones, also stimulates the synthesis of binding molecules at the skin-epidermal junctions, thereby strengthening the skin's protective barrier and improving hydration. Furthermore, IPE limits enzymatic breakdown of structural proteins such as collagen and elastin, reduces wrinkle depth, and promotes an even skin tone.
