The hydrolysis process renders this wax more polar and hydrophilic, optimizing its performance in emulsion systems. It imparts thermal stability to formulations and is highly effective at creating viscous, butter-like textures in W/O emulsions at low concentrations (0.5-1.5%) and forming stabilizing networks in O/W emulsions (0.5-3%). It can also serve as an opacifying agent in shampoos and an alternative to traditional fatty alcohols in hair conditioning.
