Glycol Distearate requires heating to at least 70-75°C (167-170.6°F) and maintaining this temperature until it is completely melted and finely dispersed for optimal incorporation and consistent pearlescent effects. It exhibits stability at elevated temperatures and can contribute to the pH stability of formulations. Its melting point ranges from 60-63°C (140-145°F) or 65-73°C (149-163°F). While nearly insoluble in water, it readily disperses in oil, alcohol (ethanol, isopropyl), cosmetic esters, and heated vegetable or mineral oils.
