As a polyhydroxy acid (PHA), Glucoheptonolactone operates by gently exfoliating the outermost layer of the skin. Its comparatively larger molecular structure ensures minimal dermal penetration, thereby reducing the potential for irritation often associated with alpha hydroxy acids. Beyond exfoliation, it is expected to hydrate, fortify the skin barrier, provide antioxidant protection, and contribute to anti-aging outcomes such as increased epidermal thickness and reduced appearance of fine lines.
