Mechanism of Action
Functions as a selective Protein Kinase A inhibitor that disrupts melanin production by acidifying melanosome pH and preventing melanosome maturation. Since tyrosinase enzyme requires neutral pH conditions to remain active, this acidification effectively halts melanin synthesis and blocks the progression from pre-melanosomes to fully pigmented mature melanosomes.
