Mechanism of Action
Through the fermentation process, dense sea cucumber saponins (holothurins) and peptides are enzymatically cleaved into smaller molecules for deeper cutaneous penetration. These actives suppress melanogenesis by downregulating tyrosinase-related proteins (TRP-1 and TRP-2), while concurrently stimulating dermal fibrocytes to upregulate the natural synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid.

Key findings
- 01 Clinical evaluation at a 2% concentration demonstrated a 50.84% inhibition of tyrosinase activity, paired with statistically significant improvements in skin elasticity and hydration levels (MDPI Marine Drugs, 2011).

Dusting Analysis
Due to its premium nature and association with high-end K-Beauty trends, this extract is frequently included at negligible percentages (0.1% or less) purely for marketing claims. A minimum of 1-2% is required to trigger documented brightening and collagen-stimulating effects.
The Formula
Formulation
Stability
Maintains excellent stability in aqueous serums and standard emulsions; efficacy is compromised if exposed to extremes outside the pH 4.0-8.0 range.
Synergies
- Niacinamide (complementary pigment inhibition)
- Vitamin C (enhanced collagen synthesis)
- Low-molecular-weight Hyaluronic Acid
Conflicts
- Strong oxidizing agents
- Highly acidic exfoliating peels
