It demonstrates synergistic antioxidant effects with other lipid-soluble antioxidants, such as Vitamin E (α-tocopherol), by regenerating their oxidized forms and extending the overall antioxidant capacity within the skin. Upon absorption into the epidermis, it undergoes enzymatic hydrolysis, releasing pure ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and stearic acid. The liberated ascorbic acid then actively stimulates collagen production, promoting skin firmness, and effectively suppresses melanin synthesis, leading to a visible brightening of the skin.
