For optimal integration, it requires slow dispersion into the oil phase under moderate to high shear, strictly avoiding water.

The safety of the nano form could not be assessed by the SCCS due to data deficiencies in 2015 and reiterated in 2021. It is approved for use in cosmetic products in the EU and US.
