Mechanism of Action
As a polycationic polymer, POLYQUATERNIUM-94 is inherently positively charged. This characteristic enables it to electrostatically interact with and adhere to the naturally negatively charged surface of the skin. Upon application, it establishes an ultra-thin, continuous film, which can contribute to surface modification and conditioning effects.

Safety Profile
Polyquaternium-94 is restricted under European Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 (Annexes III/66) due to its residual acrylamide content, with limits set at 0.1 mg/kg and 0.5 mg/kg. The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) has not specifically reviewed this ingredient, but emphasizes the importance of residual monomer/polymerization profiles for polyquaternium ingredients for comprehensive safety evaluation.
