It exhibits good resistance to light and dilute acids but degrades when boiled with concentrated sulfuric acid. Thermally, it remains stable up to 140 °C, though crystal water is lost at 170-180 °C, and combustion occurs at 200-220 °C, releasing hydrogen cyanide acid. PIGMENT BLUE 27 is insoluble in water, ethanol, ether, and oils, requiring dispersion in oily mediums or isopropyl alcohol for incorporation into water-based formulations.
