Mechanism of Action
HEDTA functions by forming stable chelate complexes with polyvalent metal ions present in cosmetic formulations. This sequestration neutralizes the pro-oxidative and destabilizing effects of these ions, which can otherwise compromise a product's stability, appearance, and overall efficacy. By mitigating metal ion interference, HEDTA enhances the performance of preservatives and antioxidants, stabilizes product color, and can improve the foaming capacity of cleansing formulations.
